Memory CMOS Design Engineer

Nantero is a nanotechnology company using carbon nanotubes for the development of next-generation semiconductor devices. These devices include memory, logic, and other semiconductor products. In the field of memory, Nantero is developing NRAM™, a high-density nonvolatile Random Access Memory. The company's objective is to deliver a product that will replace all existing forms of memory, such as DRAM, SRAM and flash memory, with NRAM™ serving as universal memory. The potential applications for the nonvolatile memory Nantero is developing are extensive and include the ability to enable instant-on computers and to replace the memory in devices such as cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, and PDAs, as well as applications in the networking arena. NRAM™ can be manufactured for both standalone and embedded memory applications. Nantero is a successful, stable, and growing company that is a leader in the field of nanotechnology.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design new integration of the interface between nanoscale memory switches and conventional CMOS circuitry.
Transfer existing designs from one CMOS foundry process to another.
Design chip-level I/O including level shifting, output drive capability, ESD protection, etc.
Create specifications for operation, packaging, and pin-out of device.
Front-to-back IC design, including SPICE-level circuit simulation, custom layout, test protocol design, and test data analysis.
Must understand issues involved with the circuit --> chip --> package interface.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BSEE or MSEE or equivalent and 5+ years experience in CMOS processing
Design in Memory foundry process a big plus.
Synthesis (i.e. HDL) design is a plus.
Experience with Flash and SRAM designs is a plus.
Experience integrating novel technologies into standard CMOS useful.
Skill in collecting, analyzing, verifying and manipulating research data
Ability to obtain a TS//SCI clearance.
Travel: 10% of time for first 6 months; Minimal travel after 6 months

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Class 10 compliant process equipment operating in a class 100 clean room environment. Wearing clean room garments and personal protective equipment. Will be required to work around the following hazards: high voltage, high temperature heat sources and noise; and to follow the proper safety procedures for self and others.
