JOB TITLE: Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager

The Opportunity:

This is a hands-on managerial level position working with senior staff to integrate a manufacturing inventory control system while taking ownership of the current purchasing role.  The position will require cross team coordination between Engineering, Facilities and Finance teams to support corporate directives for the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Integrate site-wide technical inventory documentation with corporate database together with IT
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing for the company which Includes:
    • maintain and improve purchasing operating procedures
    • manage vendor database
    • perform audits of purchasing systems
    • negotiate pricing with vendors
    • issue purchase orders
  • Develop barcoding/labeling system for integration with database together with IT
  • Work with Engineering to reduce number of suppliers and select suppliers with appropriate QC procedures
  • Improve stockroom management systems & logistics
  • Integrate domestic and international shipping procedures with corporate database together with IT

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years in Purchasing/Inventory Manager role, preferably in a chemical industrial environment.
  • Bachelor Degree in relevant area, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Purchasing and Inventory Management databases.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive work relationships with other employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Valid driver’s license

Knowledge/Skills preferred but not required:

  • Previous implementation of inventory management systems.
  • Work in semiconductors or chemical manufacturing environments
  • Creation of databases specific to purchasing, inventory control or shipping
  • Experience in working in a clean room environment
